The Gaudettes Visit GBC
This evening, we had the pleasure of hearing the preaching of Brother Blaine Gaudette. Bro. Blaine and his wife, Karen, were back in Michigan for a short visit. The Gaudettes were our missionaries to Panama for many years, due to health problems associated with malaria, they had to leave the mission field. Since leaving the field, they have been a great help to several ministries. They currently have a Spanish-speaking church and outreach in Orlando, Florida. We really enjoyed their visit. Please pray for their ministry in Florida.
Today, the Trimbles, our missionaries to the Philippines, visited our church. They are currently on furlough and will be returning to the field very soon. It was a blessing to have them with us. We enjoyed Bro. Trimble's report on their work. The preaching by Bro. Trimble was excellent as was their special music. Please pray for their ministry and that the Lord will bless them with increased support, safe travel, and continued blessings as they serve Him!.
VBS 2014 a SUCCESS!
Praise the Lord! We had excellent attendance again this year! All of the children in attendance were given the Gospel message and a number of kids accepted Jesus Christ as their savior! Thanks to all our volunteers who helped the VBS run smoothly. Thank you Lord for giving us a safe and wonderful week!
God is GREAT!
The roles of father and husband were stressed in Pastor Adkins' sermon celebrating Father's Day. The importance of Godly leadership in the home and in the community is ever more noticed as we see moral decline in America.
Each father in attendance was called to action for the glory of Christ and the benefit of their families. We love our Heavenly Father!
All mothers were recognized by Pastor Adkins' sermon taken from Proverbs 31. Respect, love and honor should be shown to our mothers. All mothers who attended were given a very nice tote bag. Remember to show love and respect toward your mother always.
Happy Easter - He is Risen!
The basis for our faith of the resurrection of believers is the resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ. We celebrated his victory over death with a late breakfast, an uplifting sermon and music.
Victory over death and hell is something to celebrate! How grateful we are to God the Father that He sent His only begotten Son to die for us. We thank Jesus for selflessly sacrificing Himself in atonement for our sins. God is so good! We are truly blessed!
Although snowy weather caused our Christmas Cantata to be delayed one week, it was still a real blessing. The ladies made a joyful noise unto The Lord, the pastor's message was clear, and God was glorified during the Christmas season.
We thank the Lord for giving us the ultimate gift, His son, Jesus - the ultimate sacrifice to cover our sins.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
2013 Harvest Party
Twenty nine people attended this years harvest party at the church. Fun included fellowship, great food, games, and music with the Baucoms - missionaries to the Native People of Canada. We had a teriffic time together! Thanks to the ladies of the church for preparing delicous food and desserts. We hope to see YOU with us at next year's harvest party!
Fishing, fellowship, food, and fun were enjoyed by all as we spent a Saturday afternoon at Scheffler's Pond. We found many of our youth to be excellent anglers. We pray that you will attend next year!
August Canoe Trip
The faithful Sunday school kids and their adult guides had a great time on the canoe trip down the Shiawassee River. Several members of our youth qualified for the trip by attending Sunday school for 5 straight weeks.
We travelled a different part of the river this year and enjoyed it very much. Everyone stayed relatively dry and bug bites were few. God gave us great weather and a safe time together. We hope you are with us next year!
