New Year's Eve

The faithful members of Gilead met at Pastor Adkins' home on New Year's Eve to ring in the new year in prayer.  A great time was had by all.  Food, faith, and fun was shared.  As the clock struck midnight, we had a season of prayer, thanking the Lord for a great year and asking that He bless us again this year.  God is so good!

An Outstanding Christmas Play

The Gilead youth did an excellent job performing this year's Christmas play "Anton's Christmas Visitor'.  All in attendance were impressed by the acting abilities of our young people.  The Gospel message was clearly evident within the play; which was the basis for Pastor Adkins' message. We were very pleased with the presentation and thank all those who helped in the production of the play.  It was a real blessing!

Washing the Bus

Yesterday, Brother Mike and some of the boys took 3.5 hours out of their Saturday to wash the bus.  God created us for work and service and the boys really came together to make our bus shine.....Pizza, pop, and fellowship were enjoyed afterward.....what a great day it was!  God bless our youth!

Gone Fishing

Fishing, fellowship, food, and fun were enjoyed by all as we spent an early Saturday evening at Scheffler's Pond.  We found many of our youth to be excellent anglers. Thanks to the Schefflers for hosting! We pray that you will be with us next year!

Kenneth Ouellette Back in the Pulpit!

In July, while Pastor Adkins and his family were on vacation, Pastor Emeritus Kenneth Ouellette was at GBC to fill the pulpit; and what a job he did!  Many were blessed with the nostalgia steeped sermons and old-fashioned gospel music.  A great time was had by all.  May The Lord continue to bless Pastor Kenneth Ouellette! We look forward to his return to Gilead this October!

VBS 2015 was a SUCCESS!

Praise the Lord!  We had excellent attendance again this year! All of the children in attendance were given the Gospel message and a number of kids accepted Jesus Christ as their savior! Thanks to all our volunteers and our missionaries, the Shells, who helped the VBS run smoothly.  Thank you Lord for giving us a safe and wonderful week!

God is GREAT!

The Shells Visit

The Shells, our missionaries to the Papua, New Guinea, visited our church the fourth week of June.

They are currently on deputation and came to our church just in time to assist with our VBS. It was a blessing to have them with us.

Please pray for their ministry and that the Lord will bless them with increased support, safe travel, and continued blessings as they serve Him!.

Father's Day

The roles of father and husband were stressed in Pastor Adkins' sermon celebrating Father's Day.  The importance of Godly leadership in the home and in the community is ever more noticed as we see moral decline in America.

Each father in attendance was called to action for the glory of Christ and the benefit of their families.  We love our Heavenly Father!

We have a lot for which to be thankful....everything we have: our families, friends, jobs, freedoms, our lives, and most of all, a loving and mericiful God who sent his Son to die for our sins.  Pastor Adkins reminded us and our guest of our blessings during the Memorial Day service.  Fellowship and a hearty lunch were enjoyed after the service.  The local Civil Air Patrol cadet honor guard presented the Colors at the beginning of the service....they did a great job and we enjoyed having them with us!

Armed Forces Gospel Packets

We recently sent in another package of "Thank You" cards and coloring pages to the Berean Armed Forces Ministry (BAFM). Brother Patrick Hayes will have them added to the Gospel packets that he gives to soldiers. The thank you cards have encouraging heartfelt messages from our members and the coloring pages are completed by our Sunday school kids.  We have been working with Brother Patrick and the BAFM since October of 2008 and look forward to working with his ministry for years to come!

Pray for our soldiers; pray for the lost.  May the Lord bless the ministry!
