We have a lot for which to be thankful....everything we have: our families, friends, jobs, freedoms, our lives, and most of all, a loving and mericiful God who sent his Son to die for our sins.  Pastor Adkins reminded us and our guest of our blessings during the Memorial Day service.  Fellowship and a hearty lunch were enjoyed after the service.  The local Civil Air Patrol cadet honor guard presented the Colors at the beginning of the service....they did a great job and we enjoyed having them with us!

Armed Forces Gospel Packets

We recently sent in another package of "Thank You" cards and coloring pages to the Berean Armed Forces Ministry (BAFM). Brother Patrick Hayes will have them added to the Gospel packets that he gives to soldiers. The thank you cards have encouraging heartfelt messages from our members and the coloring pages are completed by our Sunday school kids.  We have been working with Brother Patrick and the BAFM since October of 2008 and look forward to working with his ministry for years to come!

Pray for our soldiers; pray for the lost.  May the Lord bless the ministry!

Virtuous Women

All mothers were recognized by Pastor Adkins' sermon taken from Proverbs 31.  Respect, love and honor should be shown to our mothers.  All mothers who attended were given a very nice gift.  Remember to show love and respect toward your mother always.

Happy Easter - He is Risen!

The basis for our faith of the resurrection of believers is the resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ.  We celebrated his victory over death with a late breakfast, an uplifting sermon and music.

Victory over death and hell is something to celebrate!  How grateful we are to God the Father that He sent His only begotten Son to die for us.  We thank Jesus for selflessly sacrificing Himself in atonement for our sins.  God is so good!  We are truly blessed!

New Year's Eve

The faithful members of Gilead met at Pastor Adkins' home on New Year's Eve to ring in the new year in prayer.  A great time was had by all.  Food, faith, and fun was shared.  As the clock struck midnight, we had a season of prayer, thanking the Lord for a great year and asking that He bless us again this year.  God is so good!

Our Favorite Guest Preacher

Jacob Adkins was home from college for the Christmas holiday and preached the morning message on December 28th.  His message was a blessing, in that, it challenged us to consider that God's grace is better than mankind deserves.  We should be thankful for God's love and strive to serve the King with gladness, remembering that He truly loves us and allowed the blood of Jesus to cover our sins.

Christmas Program 2014

What a wonderful day it was!  A delicious breakfast was enjoyed by all. Between the youth group's presentation of Anton's Christmas Story and Pastor Adkins' lesson, a clear Gospel mesage was presented. God was glorified!

We thank the Lord for giving us the ultimate gift, His son, Jesus - the ultimate sacrifice to cover our sins.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Gone Fishing

Fishing, fellowship, food, and fun were enjoyed by all as we spent an early Saturday evening at Scheffler's Pond.  We found many of our youth to be excellent anglers. Thanks to the Schefflers for hosting! We pray that you will be with us next year!

The Gaudettes Visit GBC

This evening, we had the pleasure of hearing the preaching of Brother Blaine Gaudette.  Bro. Blaine and his wife, Karen, were back in Michigan for a short visit.  The Gaudettes were our missionaries to Panama for many years, due to health problems associated with malaria, they had to leave the mission field. Since leaving the field, they have been a great help to several ministries. They currently serve through a Spanish-speaking church and outreach in Orlando, Florida.  We really enjoyed their visit. Please pray that God will continue to bless them as they serve Him.

Today, the Trimbles, our missionaries to the Philippines, visited our church.  They are currently on furlough and will be returning to the field very soon. It was a blessing to have them with us.  We enjoyed Bro. Trimble's report on their work.  The preaching by Bro. Trimble was excellent as was their special music.  Please pray for their ministry and that the Lord will bless them with increased support, safe travel, and continued blessings as they serve Him!.
