You CAN Go to Heaven
Eternal salvation is a gift to us that is given freely by God. A past history of criminality, drugs, alcohol, adultery or homosexuality will not keep you out of Heaven! God is not willing that any should perish and spend eternity in hell. He made a way for us to wash away our sins so that we may have a home with Him in Heaven.
You may be wondering “What will keep me out of Heaven?” The only thing that will keep you from going to Heaven is your lack of faith that Jesus is Lord. God’s free gift of salvation from death (in hell) is available to you. Death comes like a thief in the night…we know not when or where we will die. The knowledge that you have a home in Heaven will comfort you and your loved ones as you make your way on Earth. After this life, your soul will spend eternity in either Heaven or hell. You must choose your destiny while there is still time!
You may wonder what you must do to be saved from eternity in hell. Simply understand that Heaven is a sinless place and that God will let no sin into Heaven. Know that you are a sinner “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23.
You must understand that unless you trust that Jesus sacrificed himself to pay for your sins, you are hell-bound. We are unable to save ourselves though our works; we are saved by faith in Jesus: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9. Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23.
You must accept Jesus for salvation from death in hell: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” John 1:12.
Talk to the Lord in prayer. Repent of your sins. In other words, turn away from sinful urges and ask God to forgive you of your past sins. Invite Jesus into your life as your personal savior. “…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9. Turn your heart and mind toward Jesus; salvation comes through faith. Pray honestly to the Lord; ask Him to save you from hell.
You ask, “What do I say when I pray?” Simply talk to God. It is not a set of “magic” words that will gain you a home in heaven, but an honest and earnest belief. If you truly believe that Jesus shed His blood in atonement for your sins, then tell God the Father. Tell God that you recognize that you are a sinner. Tell him that you are changing your beliefs and ways (this means you “repent” of your sins). In your prayer, tell God that you invite Jesus into your heart as your personal savior. “…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2b
If you haven’t yet prayed a salvation prayer, do not let satan sway your thinking or turn your mind from Jesus. “Wherefore as the Holy Ghost saith, today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” Hebrews 3:7-8a
If you need help coming up with a prayer for salvation, please consider using the one below as a pattern. Remember though, it is not a set of “magic” words, but belief that saves.
Dear Lord:
I know that I am a sinner and that I don’t deserve to go to heaven, but
I believe that Jesus shed his blood to pay for my sins. Forgive me for my sins.
I invite Jesus into my heart to save me from sin and hell.
Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul. Amen
If you did not accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, there is still time to consider your destiny. We pray that you will return to this site often, research the Scripture, and open your heart to Jesus. Salvation is a free gift to all; a gift of love through faith in Jesus Christ.
Now, if you prayed that prayer, Heaven is rejoicing!!! Your Christian journey has begun. There are five things that you should do to help yourself to grow in Christ. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10.
1-Read the King James Bible. God talks to you through the Bible; let him guide you daily.
2-Pray every day; you talk to God through prayer.
3-Start attending a Bible-believing, Bible-preaching church.
4-Tell others about your salvation.
5-Be baptized by immersion following salvation.
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him…” Revelation 3:20a
